Online Science Tutoring for Ages 5–14
NexEdu provides AI-generated science questions for the selected year group, Key Stage and topic. Guided practice combines scientific knowledge, vocabulary and reasoning throughout the child’s available daily tutoring time, with hints after mistakes and brief reteaching after two consecutive incorrect answers.
NexEdu supports science knowledge and reasoning. It does not replace supervised practical science, laboratory work or a teacher's safety instructions.
How science practice works
- Concept questions: the tutor checks understanding using one A/B/C/D question at a time.
- Short explanations: incorrect answers can trigger hints and, after two in a row, a concise reteach before the next question.
- Scientific vocabulary: questions can reinforce the words pupils need to explain ideas clearly.
- Working scientifically: age-appropriate questions can practise predictions, variables, evidence, data and conclusions.
- Notebook diagrams: the tutor may suggest a simple labelled diagram, while the graded response remains multiple-choice.

KS1 Science
KS1 science emphasises observing the world, asking simple questions, identifying and classifying, simple tests and foundational topics such as plants, animals, materials and seasonal change.
Key Stage 2 · Years 3–6 · Ages 7–11
KS2 Science
KS2 broadens scientific ideas and enquiry: pupils ask questions, make observations and measurements, use fair tests, record data and explain findings across topics including living things, materials, forces, light, sound and electricity.
Key Stage 3 · Years 7–9 · Ages 11–14
KS3 Science
KS3 develops deeper ideas across biology, chemistry and physics, while asking pupils to connect explanations with evidence, models, data and increasingly sophisticated scientific reasoning.
What NexEdu does — and does not do
Science learning includes practical experience as well as knowledge. NexEdu can reinforce concepts and reasoning on screen, but a digital tutor cannot provide the first-hand practical experiences described in the curriculum.
- Use NexEdu for explanations, recall, reasoning and interpreting simple scientific information.
- Use school lessons and appropriately supervised activities for practical investigation.
- The tutor's safety rules prohibit unsafe or age-inappropriate content.
- Daily reports summarise the NexEdu activity recorded for the child.

The Department for Education science programme covers scientific knowledge and “working scientifically” across the Key Stages, with biology, chemistry and physics becoming explicit disciplines at KS3.
